A SPIRITUAL ATTRIBUTE, A HEAVENLY ADVANTAGE

You shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me. – Acts 1:8.

The witness of the Holy Spirit of Jesus Christ sets us apart from those who must rely completely upon their own faculties.  Sometimes, there’s a still small voice saying, “Amen!  Go for it!”  At other times, it’s sort of like a whistle being blown, or an alarm going off. 

The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit. – Romans 8:16.

What a way to live!  What a way to vote!

Recently, a new candidate was introduced into the current political contest here in the USA.  There was an immediate and resounding “Amen!” in my inner man (the one that is being renewed day by day).

It wasn’t long before my intelligence (which belongs to the outer man, the one that is perishing) was facing questions and the opinions of others that could have called the earlier witness into question.

But, I find myself casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ (II Corinthians 10:5). 

This proactive, disciplined exercise of faith always allows me to experience the comforting and confirming peace that passes understanding, which the world cannot receive.

And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in one body; and be thankful.  Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom. – Colossians 3:15-16a.

What a way to vote!

What a way to live! 

“Knowing in my knower” also eventually proved accurate in another significant chapter in the life of the body of Christ here in the United States.  We must learn how to walk in the Spirit.  We can trust the indwelling Spirit! 

For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God. – Romans 8:14.
