Immaturity
can be revealed in a variety of ways during different seasons of our development
in Christ. Paul acknowledged that he had not attained its fullness while penning
the letter to the Philippians under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit. In his
first epistle to Corinth, he identified carnality by the divisions among them:
For
when one says, “I am of Paul,” and another, “I am of Apollos,” are you not yet
carnal?
Relatively
mature leaders are poles apart over a variety of doctrines and practices. Associations
and disassociations, not unlike the denominational world, are resulting.
Polarization
is a work of the flesh – carnal.
If
we have the same Father, we are brothers. If the Spirit is leading us, we are
sons of our Father. We are not on different paths. We are simply at different
places on the path.
Lots
of terrible things have happened; lots of wonderful things will result – IF we
continue to walk through these days TOGETHER. This present shaking is destined
to result in kingdom solidification and advancement.
Yes,
judgment must begin (and has begun) at the house of God. But, we must not be
mistaken about our roles in judgment. Judging the hearts and motives is God’s
work. The Holy Spirit convicts of sin. We are to judge fruit. Thankfully, we
can also walk in measures of discernment. Judgment is not the same as discernment.
The
flesh judges. The spirit discerns.
I
am discerning that many faithful men and women, who hold differing views on a
variety of issues, are not holding those views quite as white-knuckled as in the
past. Many of us are opening our palms and releasing our treasured views so that
we may lay hold of the Pearl of great price – TOGETHER.
It’s
time to talk, both with Father and with one another.
Here’s
a venue for dialogue:
