THE PASSIONATE PURSUIT OF PERFECTION

God can use anything! Today, He used the advertising motto of the Lexus - "The Passionate Pursuit Of Perfection" - to challenge me. Something is awakened in me that has been rather dormant.

Oh, I’ve been faithful in the passionate pursuit of God. I’ve been faithful in the passionate pursuit of family. I’ve been faithful in the passionate pursuit of ministry.

But, God is speaking to me today about the passionate pursuit of holiness.

I am guilty of, and repent from, being laid back and compromising. I have been coasting at a particular level of holiness for a long time. There have been times when I was awakened to the beginnings of backsliding in the area of personal holiness. And, I have responded by tweaking my thought life or lifestyle a bit.

But, God is calling me upward to new levels of personal holiness.

Without holiness, no one will see God.

I will not, I cannot achieve the vision that He has given me without taking personal holiness to a new level. There needs to be a release of holy power from heaven to accomplish what needs to be accomplished. We are in need of the miraculous!

God has winked in the days of ignorance. But, I’m without excuse.

Times of refreshing come from the presence of the Lord. There is no need to fast when the Bridegroom is present. But, when demons don’t flee, and sickness doesn’t go away, there should be an awakening to a deeper need of His presence and glory.

I need Him right here, watching over His word (as I speak it in faith) to perform it.

I’m going to begin some fasting discipline with the TV remote.

Pray for me, as I give myself to the passionate pursuit of perfection.
